Tom Ford's Lost Cherry is the most argued-about gourmand of the decade: a boozy cherry-almond bomb that costs as much as a weekend away. We gave it ten full wears before judging.
The good: the opening is spectacular — maraschino cherry, bitter almond, a wink of liqueur. For the first hour you understand the hype completely.
The bad: on most skin it retreats to a polite skin scent within three hours. At €280, we expected the cherry to stay for dessert.
The dupe verdict: Alhambra Cherry Blast and Armaf Club de Nuit Untold-style cherries get you 80% of the way for a tenth of the price — with, ironically, better longevity.
Buy it if the opening alone is worth it to you. Otherwise: the dupes have this one covered.
