Club de Nuit Intense Man made Armaf famous as the Aventus dupe house. Club de Nuit Iconic is what happened when they aimed at a different target — the smooth, office-friendly woody-fresh lane — and arguably scored their most mature release yet.
The smell: bergamot and apple over clean woods and soft musk. The comparisons to a certain €250 "gentleman's" fragrance are justified in the drydown, but Iconic stands on its own — less smoke than CDNIM, more polish.
Performance: 7-8 respectable hours, moderate projection that never once threatened an HR incident in three weeks of daily office wear. Two compliments, zero complaints — the ideal ratio.
The verdict: 8/10. If CDNIM is your Saturday night, Iconic is Monday through Friday. At €35 it's the easiest "first grown-up fragrance" recommendation we've made all year.
